Which is Your Favourite Day of the Week?

The routine version of a standard ‘WEEK ‘for most of us(excluding me :-)) can most aptly be summarized by a few lines of a Bon Jovi song ‘Someday I’ll be saturday night’:

“Tuesdays just might go my way,

Can’t get worse than yesterday,

Thursday Friday aint been kind,

But somehow I will survive”

And then we all hope and wait for that magical weekend. We wish every week that somehow the frist 4 days would disappear , one way or the other we drag ourselves through the travel routine, through the work and peer pressure, through the monday blues and more.We go through 4 days of horror with the hope of 1 and a half day of bliss(saturday and 0.25 of friday night and 0.25 of sunday) and then when the time arrives we somehow magically find ourselves living the dream of flying high over a rainbow and all.

Now the above may not strictly apply to everyone and I am also not trying to generalise anything here but I feel we all know in our hearts that we long for the weekends more than the weekdays.Ever wondered why?

There are many factors, but most important and major factor being that we find ourselves in the world of complete freedom and liberty. This liberty and freedom reminds us and helps us truly experience our complete control over our life.Yes, control over every activity of our life in those 1.5 days period.By the time sunday evening draws closer we find ourselves plotting plans to escape the tyranny of Monday Blues.

Every day, every week, every month, every year of our lives we continue with the same emotions and same routine. No doubt you gain something and you hence you would justify that its ok to lose something too in the process. But then is the thing that you get more valued than what you lose(your freedom)?

Once again I reiterate the above may not be applicable for all.Yes, there would be three types of people reading this blog entry

1)Who control their lives and are not bothered about the arriving Monday wrath

2)Who do not control their lives and have resigned to the effects of the arriving Monday blues and all.

3)Who live in denial and will question the reasoning behind the post. But before you question please ask yourself one very important question – Do you belong to the first or the second category?

While answering the question Be honest to yourself and not to me or anyone else.Who knows a single honest answer might lead you where.

Please participate in a simple poll my friends.Lets see your loyalty stands for which day and also supplement a reason for the same.

Gain control over your Monday blues and all days of the week so that you may find happiness and courage to welcome everyday on its own merit.Dont live your life with your eyes set on the weekends while crossing the bridge of weekdays.Remember you live the weekdays but for only once in your life.Make the most of it.

Once again thanks a lot for your precious time.Be kind to comment.

Take care n be good.

    Dear Sumukh,

A very nice thought on the so called weekdays blues…… i personally feel that all this weekdays blue and people longing for weekend are the recent useless fads created by all lazy people. I will just ask one question to all the people who crib about the weekday blues that, will they understand the importance of weekends if there were no weekdays….. we can enjoy weekends only when we work (actually slog) for all the five weekdays. we need to be positive enough in our mentality to accept the importance of each and every day as it comes.

    Thanks…. keep writing…..

True man, infact I also would like to bring to your notice the pointless sloging that so many ‘willingly’ go through in-order to earn some brownie points from their seniors.People do not believe in getting work completed in the normal duration of 9 hours but move ahead with their work at a painstakingly slow pace so that they can stay back in office and impress some people.I don’t understand that why people stay back after their normal 9 hrs. shift duration to complete the days work.I can understand 2-3 days exception in a month but unfortunately people stretch their working hours to 11 or 12 for useless reasons.Honestly if one cannot complete his or her job in a span of 8-9 hours then there is something seriously wrong with his or her productivity.

Thus you have people needlessly staying back after work hours, then they crib about their company or work and thus end up cursing the weekdays and after some time they get so used to this life style that they unknowingly resolve themselves to their fate of working for long hours(to impress their seniors and fellow members).

Wake up people and start living your life!
