Plastic Smiles

Why do people employ this worst kind of expression to greet someone? Is is by the virtue of the second nature set into a person or is it the reflection of helplessness that one might experience when it comes to expressing their feelings about the other person.Helplesness, wherein, there is nothing much you can do about the presence of that particular person around you. It was great when we were in school. No one knew about this so called ‘Plastic/Artificial’ exercise of face.Everything was genuine, the way it is supposed to be.

This so-called ‘Plastic Smile’ is the gift of the corporate world. But what amuses me is the fact that why people unnecessary keep on employing this artificial artifact as if it is the best thing to do. A Genuine Smile is always good. The other person can immediately feel the warmth of a genuine smile. But these dreaded ‘Plastic Smile’ is the worst form of display of an emotion.

For all the people who employ this useless art, please note that the anyone can easily figure out whether you are genuinely happy to meet or greet them.If you keep on flashing this stupid expression then it becomes more so very obvious that you do not like the company of the person you are with. If that is the impression that you want to give then please why flash the artificial smile in the first place.

The worst happens when you happen to meet a person, not from your department or section or even floor;but someone who you know works for the same company, and then he or she goes on to flash the idiotic expression as if to show that they are genuinely happy to see you.I ask a simple question people – Why do you have to stoop your self esteem so low by doing something which never pleases anyone? No one likes to flash their teeth just for the sake of it and no one likes to stare at them either. It is not like we are advertising our set of 32 teeth now is it?

Whatever happened to being natural?Being who you really are? Have you all lost that feeling or sense about yourselves.Be natural people.I repeat  – Be natural,Be yourself but don’t Be rude. Now many of you will argue by saying that these so called plastic smiles are a gesture to indicate (fake)pleasure to see and meet a person. My answer if very simple – It does not matter.Flashing these fake plastic smiles make you and the other person uncomfortable.Plastic Smile is not the most evolved of all expressions of mankind;but is the most insincere of them all.We all can easily make out whether a person is genuinely happy to be with us or is simply trying to fool us.But the most important aspect is that this artificial gesture is of no use. They do not comfort you and nor do they comfort the other person.

So please BE GENUINE and BE YOURSELF and stop selling your self-respect through the gate of your 32 teeth.

Let your smile reflect the beauty in you.It is a powerful weapon and if used sincerely can break the ice between any relations and people. It cuts across caste, creed, country, race, religion.Show some decency when employing such divine expression.
