Learn to Give Some Credit

Disclaimer : This post is not intended as a jibe at the bank or its employees or their credit policies 🙂

Many a times we have seen our family members, friends, colleagues and ourselves too come up with invention, various nobel ideas, superlative and pure actions, thoughts and other various nobel pursuits. Now under usual circumstances we go all out to ensure that the credit emerging out of such actions is showered upon us when we ourselves are involved in them. We might also go on to fight tooth and nail with the world to ensure that the credit goes to the concerned family member if he or she is involved in any of the above mentioned nobel pursuits. But then can we whole heartedly claim to be so true in our emotions while giving away credit to our friends or colleagues who have developed or carried out actions on any of the mentioned nobel pursuits?

The answer will vary from person to person. But here is what I feel. We must seriously learn to give credit to those who deserve it and must try to avoid basking in someone else’s stolen glory. Many a times people out of sheer jealousy and such evil emotions; and also with the aid of the post they occupy in the social or official strata, go many a miles to ensure that they are recipients of a nobel idea or invention or a thought process are denied their true recognition.

Such actions are also backed by the emotion of greed towards receiving direct or indirect benefits arising from the formulation and realisation of various nobel concepts in discussion.

One must realise that true greatness comes when you actually start to live your life graciously. It is a tall order to be gracious. But one can take the required first step by ensuring that one cultivates immunity towards the emotions and expressions of greed and jealousy towards others success acquired by the use of nobel ideals in discussion, irrespective of the social, financial or natural standing of the person. Learn to free yourself from these bonds and try to enjoy your life the way it is supposed to be.

Life is a journey where every moment in time gives us lessons. If you find that your colleague or your friend has done something good not only for himself but also for others  then try to give him the necessary respect wholeheartedly so that it may inspire him or her to develop and progress on many such ideas and ideals. Never steal anyones elses earned right to enjoy the fruits of his labor.

Be gracious in thoughts, words and actions.Learn to enjoy someone else’s skills and success.Be kind towards everyone for in these skills lie the true success of a human being.
