Shashi Tharoor Speech

This is a very special post as it will help illuminate the ideas, concepts, vision, practices and other fundamentals that go into framing a Foreign Policy for a nation. I have always felt that the Ministry of External Affairs is one of the most challenging, demanding and fulfilling ministry of them all. Every action taken, every word spoken, every gesture made is important and their effects are profounding on the image of a country. The ability to read between lines, coordinating with various people of diverse culture, heritage, language and ideas, ensuring that the image of the country and its interest are best taken care of in the International arena, are few of the many essentials that a person affiliated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has to perform on.

The below two videos are a response by Hon. MP Mr. Shashi Tharoor towards the debate for Demand of grants for Ministry of External Affairs. He explains in-depth about the functioning of India’s foreign policy. His explanation is very rich in content and also his speech, mannerism, choice of words, phrasing of sentences, skill of injecting humor are a few of the priceless gems from which we all can learn from.
