Key to Happiness

Many a times, as we scrape through our hectic lives, we must ask our selves a very simple yet important question, “What have I done to spread some joy in the world today?” It is a simple question but requires a sincere answer.

There are many things that one can do to answer the above question. But, before you too jump into answering the same, I request to kindly go through the question again. I have used the word ‘world’ which carries a very important meaning. We all carry out our daily activities for ourselves, but hardly bother to pay anyone else any attention. The question probes you to question yourself on your role or activity in spreading joy, in the lives of others.

The best way to go about is, I feel, by trying to spread the superlative quality of smile around. A smile is rightly described as a curve that sets everything straight right. Give a genuine compliment to someone on their dress code, their handwriting, their work ethics, their projects etc. Try, sincerely, to highlight a quality, in others, which you feel makes the person stand out in the crowd. A quality which defines their personality.

Now, it may not always be possible to do the above mentioned exercise. Luckily, our world exists of million other living beings which decorate our surroundings, knowingly or unknowingly. Living beings such as trees, plants, animals etc. Try and extend some grace and kindness towards them. Feed them and then try to notice the joy in their eyes. They may not sing praises for your act, but their eyes and gestures convey the mostly sweetest song which is filled with the element of thankfulness.

Every living being lives on this planet. You can make a difference by living your life the right way – By spreading joy, happiness and smile everywhere. Let your personality radiate love, peace and harmony.

Make a choice. Choose Life.
