This post is definately not about the Mirage that one finds in the scorching heat of desert but rather, is about human life. I have tried to describe an emotion through these below words. I challenge you to unmask that emotion. Let me know also!!

Mirage….how do you describe such a word?

An illusion or a ray of hope?

I feel, it is actually both.

It compels you to chase it,

Even though you know in your heart, that, you perhaps my never get it.

Mirage usually manifests itself when you are least expecting it and creeps up on you from the most unknown quarters. It grips your heart, churns your mind and charms you to follow it. The first few steps are filled with robust bursts of energy, as you leap ahead towards the unknown, that lies ahead…mysteriously calling you in ways, you have never heard before. The call spellbinds you. You are left with no choice but to abandon your immediate pursuits and move towards the charming Mirage that allures you.

A few steps later, if lucky, sanity rises; forcing the arm of the spell and informs you of the perils of moving towards it. Yet, if the charm of the Mirage has worked its spell, then nothing… except divine intervention, can protect the prey from diving deep into the abyss of the Mirage.

Why is Mirage so powerful and is there any cure to it?

Mirage in itself is never all-powerful. Many a times, the victim itself gives Mirage the power to overwhelm itself. Perhaps, the reason lies in finding desperate solace in the arms of shade to protect and rejuvenate oneself from the heat of the scorching sun. It is in this very desperation that one trades the power over oneself for something which one feels, can offer him much-needed respite.

As I have mentioned earlier, that only a divine intervention can protect you, if ever you find yourself mesmerized under the spell of a Mirage. And even if you are saved, the heart will continue to linger in that moment and force the mind to look back in hope over the landscape, to confirm, whether the Mirage is still holding its sway over the barren landscape.

You may encounter it or you may not. But, if you do, then be rest assured…. you will never be the same. It may enrich you or it may break you. But, you will never be the same again.
