The importance of being faithful to the present moment can never be overstated – Sumukh Naik
The element of change is said to be constant. The most tiniest of fraction into which this change can be compartmentalized is that of a moment. Life after all, is only but a string of moments. What matters now the most, within moments, can turn into something of secondary importance and what never mattered before could achieve prime importance in life. The train of life chugs along gently on the rails of these moments. All we can and need to do is admire the scenes / events as they pass by. This journey of life keeps on chugging ahead never does it go back to grant us the opportunity to undo a mistake or reclaim lost glory. All that lies with us is the golden boon of learning from the past and applying it to our present so that the future may shape up according to our will.
Whether the future will ever shape up to our expectations is a question none can answer with complete authority for what lies in the womb of time is something even the wise can’t summarize without sufficient knowledge. Neither the past can be remade nor the future be tampered with. All we have to deal with is our ‘Present’ . How we deal with it should be our only concern. Try not to dream aimlessly into the fallen walls of the past and don’t waste unnecessary time building palaces for future in thin air. Play your present moment with knowledge, sincerity, sensibility and absolute authority over your senses and may be then the other two tenses will take care of themselves.
Be faithful – to yourself and to the gifted moment of life. You never know what wonders it could have in store for you. In the end, life is only a necklace of pearls with each individual moment shining brightly as and when the torch & glory of time falls gently on it.
Hence, the importance of being faithful to the present moment can never be overstated.
